Salford’s Valmar 8600 is a high capacity, high speed, air boom applicator capable of delivering up to 1,000 lbs./acre at 8 mph. The 8600 has up to 11-ton capacity and features adjustable axles to accommodate most row spacings. The 8600’s metering can be mechanically, or hydraulically driven for straight rate, or variable rate application. The ground driven metering system is extremely accurate, automatically adjusting to ensure a uniform application rate regardless of ground speed. This machine is equipped with a simple to calibrate and highly accurate Venturi metering system that makes it easy for anyone to operate.

Overview
The Valmar 8600 can be configured with a ground-driven or hydraulic metering system. The ground-driven system uses an accurate 60-speed gearbox. which allows for rate adjustments in 5% increments for precise application with a wide variety of granular products. Left/right metering section control can be manually operated from the cab to minimize overlap throughout the field. The hydraulic-driven metering system option can automate the left/right hand control and allows for variable rate application using ISOBUS control through a third-party rate controller.The 8600 also has the option to add a second metering system with a micro hopper. Using a 28-groove metering roller allows for precise application of granular herbicide, seed, or micronutrients at the same rate as you apply fertilizer. The 8600 has two main hopper size options; the 8608 with an 8-ton hopper and the 8611 with an 11-ton hopper. The 8608 has a total capacity of 260 cubic feet with the option to split the main hopper with a 60 cubic foot hopper, and 200 cubic foot main hopper. The 8611 features 357 cubic feet of total capacity with the option to add a 60 cubic foot hopper with a 297 cubic foot main hopper. Higher capacity hoppers allow for you to cover more acres with less downtime for fill ups. The hopper itself is constructed of corrosion-resistant, painted 409 stainless steel and comes with a roll tarp installed. The Valmar 8600 features 66-foot hydraulic fold booms built with high-quality 304 stainless steel to stand up to the abrasive nature of granular fertilizer application. These booms are equipped with rubber torsion suspension, which reduces friction, bouncing and wear of the booms while operating at higher speeds and do not require any service. Manual folding, 7-foot break-away boom tips are also implemented on the 8600 to minimize damage that may occur from striking obstacles in the field.The left and right boom are supplied independently for the greatest application accuracy, and allowing for left/right right section control in hydraulically driven and mechanically driven machines. Originally designed to meet the needs of row crop farmers, the 8600 features axles which can be adjusted from 72 inches up to 120 inches with the wide adjustable axle option and row crop tires to accommodate most row spacings. In addition, the 8600 can be equipped with optional tire sizes to achieve greater flotation or narrower tracking, depending on the crop and/or the tractor pullingAccurate metering options
