J.R. Brisson is seeking a bilingual human resources generalist for their Ontario locations.  The position is based in Ottawa.

Responsibilities 

The Human Resources and Health and Safety Business Partner will:

  •       Provide HR support a business unit/functional area which may include recruitment, employment documentation, job evaluation, compensation and benefits;
  •     Prepare internal employee communications regarding compensation, benefits, or company policies;
  •     Develop and propose improvement to policies, programs, and procedures to improve the effectiveness of HR and operations;
  •    Assist in resolving employee relations issues and administering disciplinary actions;
  •    Develop procedural documents and review in accordance with OHS program;
  •  Document H&S incidents/infractions – meetings, orientations, observations and corrective actions;
  •   Participate in risk assessments and provide appropriate recommendations;
  •   Conduct safety audits (plant safety protocols and PPE requirements meet compliance);
  •      Provide support to the JHSC team (attending meetings, taking minutes, providing appropriate follow up).

    Skills

    Profile 

    •       Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field;
    •       Three (3) or more years of relevant HR experience;
    •   Bilingual (French/English);
    •        Understanding on Ontario employment regulations;
    •       Willing to challenge the status quo and be a strong influencer;
    •      Strong interpersonal, analytical and communications skills required;
    •       Ability for coaching, mobilize and influence managements culture;
    •      Ability to manage multiple sites in a fast paced environment.
